I’ve posted a new short story!
『The F-Friend Gyaru Won’t Let Me Go Today Either.』
Please check it out!
And so, for one week, I spent almost all of my time on breakdancing.
Thanks to the support of Riran and Riza-san, I’ve managed to make it look like something respectable. Or so I hope.
I checked it on video, but I still feel like I’m standing out a bit too much.
“I’m nervous.”
“It’s fine, Akito! If anything, I’m worried that you’re so good you’ll make us look like amateurs.”
Don’t put your arm around my shoulder, it’s humid.
“More importantly, don’t make such a gloomy face. Today is the first day of the Ginkgo Festival! Let's get our spirits up!”
That's right. Now that a week has passed, the Ginkgo High School festival—the Ginkgo Festival—starts today.
The schedule is Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. The first two days are for students only. On Saturday, the school is opened to the public, inviting outside guests.
Of course, it seems Kotono and Noa are coming too.
I’m not really looking forward to my little sister seeing me in costume, though.
On top of that, the stage performance is also on Saturday.
Dancing not just in front of students, but in front of the general public makes me nervous... but I guess it’ll be what it’ll be.
“Even so, Ryūya, that really suits you.”
“Right? The makeup was supervised by Neika.”
“V-sign!”
Ryūya had successfully transformed into Frankenstein's monster.
Beside him, Neika was cosplaying as a Jiangshi.
These two really pull it off.
“You look good too, Akky.”
“I’ve just added dog ears, a dog tail, and fluffy paws, though.”
I check my reflection in the classroom’s full-length mirror.
I’ve already changed into my kimono, and I’m wearing the dog ears and dog tail over it.
I’ll take off the paws when serving customers, but I’ll basically keep the ears and tail on.
By the way, Riran, Rio, and Hiyori are on customer service. Ryūya and Neika are in charge of cooking.
Even though I say cooking, since we can't use fire indoors, it's mostly frozen food heated in the microwave.
Outdoor stalls can use fire for cooking, but apparently, that's only for second and third-year students.
“By the way, where are Kuonji and Ryūguūbi?”
“Ah, they said they’d come after getting ready at Rio’s house, so they should be here soon.”
“Hmm. I wonder what kind of costumes they’re wearing.”
“I don’t know. They wouldn’t tell me.”
Riran and Rio’s costumes... I think anything would suit them, but I’m curious to see what they chose.
As we were making final adjustments to the classroom, the hallway became unusually noisy.
What is it? What’s going on?
A classmate who was in the hallway came running in.
“Sa-Sanada! O-O-O-M-M-M-M!?”
“Huh? Me?”
What could it be?
Led by my classmate, I stepped out into the hallway.
“Oh, Akito.”
“Akito-kun, sorry for the wait.”
“Eh... Ri-Riran, Rio...!?”
T-Those costumes... no way.
“Draculas!?”
“Yes, that’s right. I decided to make it a Dracula sisters theme with Rio.”
“How is it? Does it suit us?”
Long, tight trousers with a shirt slightly open at the chest.
Over that, they wore a long coat, with fingerless gloves on their hands. On their feet, they wore long boots.
They seemed to be wearing fake fangs, as teeth were visible in their mouths, and their faces were covered in overall sickly-pale makeup.
In terms of color, Riran’s outfit was entirely black, while Rio’s was entirely red.
“I-It suits you both amazingly, but... did you prepare Dracula costumes because you heard I was going as a werewolf?”
“Yes. It was quite an ordeal. Rio and I worked hard to make them by hand, and we somehow finished them.”
Draculas and werewolves are like oil and water... they are often depicted as natural enemies.
It’s a costume choice that mirrors the past relationship between Riran and me.
I mean, well... they both look incredibly cool...
“Oh? Whoa, Kuonji and Ryūguūbi look badass!”
“Rila, Rio! Pictures, let me take pictures!”
Ryūya and Neika, who arrived later, were also high on energy.
Well, seeing such high-quality costumes would do that to anyone.
“...Wait, is it okay to wear such elaborate costumes? We’re supposed to wear kimonos to serve customers first.”
“It’s fine. We made them so we can take off the coats and wear the kimonos over the rest without any trouble moving.”
Ah, I see.
They’ve thought it through properly.
“Eeeh? What’s this? Rila-tan is so cuuuute!”
“Ah, Hiyo... ri!?”
Hiyori arrived from the opposite direction.
However, her appearance was unacceptable.
“Wait, Hiyo... that!?”
“Hmm? Oh, this? It’s Hiyori’s cosplay. How is it, does it suit meee?”
It’s not a matter of if it suits you or not...!
“You’re just wrapped in bandages!”
“Bzzzzt. I’m a mummy girl. I’m cute, right?”
She had bandages wrapped around her whole body, and while the important parts were covered... there was far too much skin showing. Or rather, it was too sexy.
“You shouldn’t wear such a costume at a high school festival!”
“Eeeh. It’s fine, it’s cute.”
“It is certainly not fine.”
“Ouch!?”
Eh? Ah, Yakushiji-senpai!
Yakushiji-senpai, who had stood behind Hiyori before anyone noticed, brought a thick book down on Hiyori’s head.
Yakushiji-senpai was also in costume, wearing something like an elaborate, heavy kimono.
“Brat. Costumes that violate public order and morals are prohibited. Put something on over that.”
“Boo-hoo! I protest violence!”
“Call it a lash of love. When a girl as lovely as you dresses like that, it makes me anxious. Now, let’s go.”
“Wait, President, don’t pull meee!”
Yakushiji-senpai grabbed Hiyori’s hand and led her down the hallway.
“By the way, Yakushiji-senpai. What is that costume?”
“Hmm? Oh, it’s Enma Daiō.”
Hearing that, everyone present probably thought the same thing.
(((((It suits her way too much.)))))
