Chapter 157 : The Tour of the New Home

“W... whoa, the entrance is huge too!”

“Yeah. It's wider than my grandpa's house in the countryside...”

It was wide enough for four adults to stand side-by-side without any problem.

Right in front of us was a walk-in shoe closet that looked like it could hold over a hundred pairs. There was also a full-length mirror that easily reflected our entire bodies.

The entryway step was quite high, but it seemed convenient for when we needed to change shoes.

There was a slope next to it as well, making the design barrier-free.

To be honest, this area alone was about as big as my entire room.

Just the entrance being this large... it was making me feel a bit restless.

“This is... mine and Akito's house! W-what should I do, Akito? I'm getting so excited!”

“Now, now, calm down.”

I understood how she felt, but if she frolicked around like that, she was going to trip.

We took off our shoes and stepped up from the entrance. There, I saw something like a floor plan placed on a small item stand.

‘This is a floor plan of the house. Please make use of it. —Suwabe Hitomi’

This kind of thoughtful consideration... thank you, Suwabe-san.

I gratefully looked over the floor plan.

After stepping up from the entrance, there was a hallway that split to the left and right.

To the right, there seemed to be three guest rooms for visitors.

For now, let's try going to the left.

When I opened the sliding door, the first thing that appeared was the living room.

“It's huuuuuge!”

“Wow...! It's amazing...!”

According to the floor plan, the living room was 30 tatami mats large.

The television was built into the wall, with no wiring visible at all. The sofa and the floor table both exuded a sense of luxury; even just one of these items made the level of quality apparent.

On the opposite side was a system kitchen, fully equipped with cooking utensils and even a refrigerator. There were even the latest cooking appliances that had just been released recently; it was truly more than enough...

The garden was also visible from the living room, and there was a direct path to the terrace. Preparing a meal here and eating it on the terrace... that was an option too.

“I-I don't think I can handle a kitchen like this...”

“Well, let's split the chores. I can make simple dishes too.”

“Really? What kind of food do you usually make, Akito?”

“Microwaved broccoli, boiled chicken breast, water-washed cherry tomatoes, and avocado with wasabi soy sauce.”

“That's basically just the taste of the ingredients!”

What was she saying? This was perfectly good cooking. ...Probably.

“Haa... it looks like I'll have to work hard on the cooking...”

“That's why I said I'll help too. Don't push yourself.”

“I'd rather eat proper meals than push myself to enjoy just the taste of the ingredients.”

What a selfish girl.

Passing through the door on the opposite side of the living room, the hallway continued, with Western-style and Japanese-style rooms lined up on the left and right.

Each room was apparently over 10 tatami mats large. It might be good to use these for when my parents or Riran's parents come to visit.

“It's a pretty good size. A little small, though.”

“No way, it's plenty big.”

I'd personally love to have a private room that was 10 tatami mats large.

We continued looking around at the two toilets, the bathroom, the laundry room, and the walk-in closet before heading to the second floor.

Going up the stairs near the entrance, a 20-tatami living room spread out before our eyes.

“Man, it's big...!”

“Having a living room on both the first and second floors... cleaning is going to be tough. What should we do?”

“I don't know what to tell you, we just have to do it... or maybe we can find a way to hire a housekeeper once a week...”

“We don't have that kind of money.”

“True.”

So that meant Riran and I would have to maintain this ourselves? Suwabe-san, I appreciate the sentiment, but this is way more than we can handle.

On the second floor, besides the living room, there were three rooms meant for children, two toilets, and a place that looked like a study.

And finally, the bedroom.

Inside was a luxurious king-sized bed along with a desk and chair. Furthermore, a refrigerator, television, and even a shower room were attached.

To be blunt, this room alone had enough specs to live in comfortably.

Looking down from the balcony, it was quite high. Even compared to the surrounding two-story houses, it was high enough to look down on them.

“Are we really going to live in a place like this...?”

“............”

“Hm? Riran?”

What's wrong? Why are you spacing out like that?

“Bed, one... sleeping here... me and Akito, in here... auuu~...”

She's hopeless.

Setting aside the tripping Riran.

Thinking that I'll be sleeping here with Riran starting next Saturday... I might really need to prepare my heart and find some resolve.
